Fall 2010

The fall season has ushered itself in quite rapidly. Here in Portland we are sloshing through wet leaves and braving our umbrellas against the wind.

Lots has happened since our last Blog experience. Our staff has changed. Simone left for New York City back in august and is happy to be starting a new job working with a jewelry designer. Looks like her years put in at Beads Forever are paying off ( so to say).

Now we are happy to announce that Travis Pollanz is our store manager. He brings 15 years of retail experience with him as a designer, make-up artist and salesman extrordinare.

As for Carmelleta...I've been busy working on a small book for the beading industry. I am currently working on negotiating a price for printing as a self publisher. I'll have more information regarding the book in the new year.

We are preped and ready for those of you who want to create your gifts this holiday season.

Come enjoy the fun of the Hawthorne District, there's lots to see .

Jewels from Afar

This lovely necklace reminds us of the hand work done by many of the women in Turkey. It's textures are similar to those found in Turkish carpets. It includes a mix of Amethyst , Coral, and Tiger Eye gemstones. Carmelleta purchased 3 of these necklaces from her dealers at the Istanbul Bazzar. We consider these Artifacts as well as jewelery.

Searching the world for jewelry

Our website will be updated soon. Currently Carmelleta is writing from the other side of the world in Athens Greece. It has been an interesting 3 weeks looking at and purchasing new items for Beads Forever. Turkey and Greece are famous for their gold and silver jewelry. The shops along the avenues are filled with expensive handcrafted items that reminds us of an era long ago.

If you also are a facebook user, you can find Beads Forever there also. We invite you to submit and write current information on jewelry, beads and creative adornments. The web is a big place out there and these days this is how people are connecting.

Happy Travels,

Carmelleta
